  1. Well it's been awhile since I've posted anything and longer since I've braided something. And after seeing some of the work being posted I almost didn't post this. But what the heck here goes! I braided this for my daughter to use when she runs barrels and poles. The wrist strap is a four strand roo over a strip of rawhide. It's 8" long. The body is sixteen strand over a leather core. Including the popper It's 25.5" long. The two long knots are 8 bight knots with others being 6 bights. A few years back we had to put my daughters gelding down due to west nile(they think) so she wanted his tail hair worked into it. So I used it for a interweave and to skirt the poppers. Over all it turned out alright it has a great feel and action to it. Were I used the gaucho pattern it could of used a interweave. But I have never done that and didn't have time to figure it out. The strings were a nice brown color due to me dying it with coffee but I over worked the strings and you can see the result in color loss. It honestly looks better in person than these pics. show. I guess pictures really show the nitty gritty of stuff!! Mike
  2. Jay I'm interested but I would like a little more info. Do you want double and stitched? Or just a single layer of leather with stitching on it. Is there any tooling on it or just left plain. Looking at the picture I can't figure out how the buckle is to be attached. What kind of buckle is it. Sorry for all the questions but I'm just trying to get a better idea of what your after. Thanks, Mike

  5. Pat I noticed that black seems to be the worst for me. You may get some stretch from braiding but it won't be near as much as purposely pre stretching a long string or strip. Mike
  6. Pat I don't think I would mess with trying to strectch precut lace. Unless you plan on cutting it down more after stretching to get a uniform string. When I cut strings I cut them wider to allow for the shrinkage due to stretching. I can then cut to my final width. On smaller items like bracelets, hatbands, key fobs , and such I may not stretch the string at all. Especially if its pretty firm. Mike

  23. I'm selling a union lockstitch bobbin winder with the wax pot. It seems to work good everything turns freely. There is a small chip on one side of the bobbin holder. To be honest I dont know anything about this bobbin winder as I dont have a union. I bought it to try and wind some differnt bobbins. I then found a nother way to get that done. So I'm selling it. If ya want more pics let me know and I'll get them to ya. Asking $300.00 obo+ shipping Thanks, Mike
  24. Does anyone know if its possible to build up the point of a shuttle. I just got a extra #6 shuttle but the ends kinda blunt. It still picks up the thread and all. But I'd like to know if anyone has ever had one brazed/welded and then reshaped to the sharp point. I'm thinking 1/16 to maybe 1/8 in length. I only paid .99cent for it on fleabay. And seeing how their over $400 new I'd like to fix this one up if possible. Thanks, Mike
  25. Over stitch wheel has sold. Mike
