  1. Very nice work! I am going to attempt my second belt which will be my first ranger belt, here soon. I hope it turns out as nice as yours. Regards, Nick
  2. Nice sheaths! I really like that lace work! That's a nice design for one of Spencer's knives. I may try lacing like that on one of my sheaths. Regards, Nick
  3. Alex, Good Call. I think I will wear it around for a while and see if there are any things that require any other changes. Thanks for the kind words, Nick
  4. Here are a couple of pics of my first attempt at making a holster. I would have liked for it to have come out better. I think the pattern is OK and will work for future attempts with maybe some minor modifications. The belt loop is too big and the stitches I used for it are too far from the edge of the loop. Also the stitches around the belt slot are not spaced evenly on either side. Also the leather I used was too thick and I know squat about boning. It has some other issues as well, but I don't know enough to know what they are. I finished it in USMC Black with Leather Balm on top. I don't plan on using this holster for anything but a reference for next time so I didn't go for a fancy finish. Anyway..... here are the pics Any comments or advice, preferably, would be appreciated. Regards, Nick
  5. Howdy All, I am new to this whole leather working thing and this forum. I am a soldier stationed at Fort Bliss, TX. I came across this forum while searching for tutorials. This forum looks like a wealth of info. I started a couple of months ago because I saw a tutorial on how to make a knife sheath and thought "how hard can it be?". Not as easy as I thought it turns out but I am having fun. I have made a few sheaths now and I am in the midst of my first holster project. I am making mostly knife sheaths and holsters. I am would also like to make western belts and other accessories as well. I hope to learn a lot here and hopefully contribute once I know more. Should be fun, there looks like there are a lot of folks here with talent. Here are pics of a couple of my sheaths. A pancake sheath A MOLLE compatible sheath for my web gear And one other Best Regards, Nick كافر- INFIdel "You may all go to Hell and I will go to Texas" Davy Crockett "Because they don't make a Colt .46!"-Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson When asked why he carried Colt's .45 Government Model.
