Howdy folks, Here's a few pics of my latest project a machete sheath, I made it for a friend that likes to hunt boars, he wanted a sheath with an easy attachment, so I came up with the idea to put a holster clip on the back of the sheath. Tell me what do you think, any suggestion for improvements is highly appreciated. Cheers from Italy

Howdy folks, Hell on Wheels, one of my favourite TV Series so far, has just began for the 5th and final season, so today I was trying to make, the holster pattern of the main protagonist, Cullen Bohannon, former Confederate Officer, looking for vengeance and ended up as a Railroad man, he used to carry a brass framed 1860 Colt Army in the first two seasons, now he has switched to a 1858 Remington. It's basically a mexican doble loop holster, with a large teardrop as backskirt, but I'm having problems, designing that part. I think the belt it's pretty straight forward, for what I can see from reference pics it's a 1 3/4 inch belt. Here's an old pattern and a finished holster that I made over a year ago, but I'm not really happy about it, so I decided to make a new one today, and of course a good reference pic. Any help or suggestion is highly appreciated! Cheers from Italy

Thanks Monica and Bob! Yeah I use wood dowels for now, you think that adding too many cartridge loops on the gun belt will make it uneasy to wear? I live near Genova, Rome it's a little bit far from here! -

It's the same holster and both the buckle strap and the Texas Ranger Star loop it's attached in the back skirt with chicago screws! Thanks for the nice comment, what really rocks here are Jim Simmons' patterns and tutorials! -
Howdy folks! Finally I've completed this project, a single buscadero gun belt, I made it for myself and was the gun belt that I always dreamed as a kid! It's named El Tejano by the great Jim simmons, as always I have to thank him a lot, for the patterns kindly provided and the help on making gun belts and holsters. The gun belt has 30 cartridge loops for .45 LC, (I can't wait to get me a Uberti Cattleman, hopefully with my next wage) and it's only lined on the drop loop for the holster, the holster is fully lined and comes with the variations of the classic strap and the round loop with the Texas Ranger Star concho. So guys tell me what do you think, soon I'll make another one similar but brown. I would like to thank again Jim Simmons for the patterns and his help, I couldn't have gone this far with your GREAT TUTORIALS and PATTERN PACKS! You are my mentor on making Western leather accessories! Cheers from Italy

What a beautiful rig! Well done! -
Trace the pattern with a pensil on poster board, then transfer it with tandy scratch awl! It's the method I've learned reading a few tutorials here in this forum! Hope it helps

Hello all, I was asked to make a small Messanger Bag/Man purse, for everyday use, just to carry a wallet and eventually a book. My question is, what is the right weight of leather to use? The customer sent me this reference pic, he just want a simple gusset, not a fancy one like in the pic. Thanks in advance for any help and suggestion.
