Thanks for the Great challenge! I'm a beginner and because of health can not get out to lessons so this is perfect for me. Kat Frye

Did you make your piped edge? If you did then was it out of leather? Your bag is beautiful! Kat Frye Here's a picture of a piped edge on a tool bag I did, except the top leather is chrome tanned - but you get the idea. Alternately you could bind the edge.

Does anyone know anything about the Cowboy sewing machines? I need a light-medium weight leather sewing machine that will handle 3 to 4 layers of 2.5 to 3.0 wt garment leather and possibly Latigo. I make purses and cases as well as vests, not saddles or belts. Thanks for any help Kat Frye

Indy try Texas Thread mfg. co. at 1-800-840-3670 Their ad states thread sizes 46 to 554 so maybe they have what you need. Kat Frye

I think you need to unlace/sew and add leather. If it were me, I would buy some muslin, make a prototype/pattern before adding anything. You can use 'steam-a-seam' instead of sewing, you iron the seams & they can be pulled apart when you want to make final pattern. Kat Frye

Your work is very professional looking! I especially like the desert scene belt. Kat

Very nice! I like the way you made the carving stand out by not using a lot of background. The sword looks old & realistic. Kat Frye
