How To Lined A Leather Tray?
panchoskywalker replied to panchoskywalker's topic in How Do I Do That?
I'm sure that Spray Adhesive should work but I've read somewhere that is doesn't last as long as glue...and I wonder if I could still wet the leather to mold it. nevermind, I will try it also. -
How To Lined A Leather Tray?
panchoskywalker replied to panchoskywalker's topic in How Do I Do That?
This is the second try. On the first try I bonded the fabric but it got to stiff to adapt to the tray form. So I tried this one where the fabric is not bonded but then I got stains from the glue (tear mender). There must be a safe way to do this. -

I did though about that alternative but I have not tried it. -
Hello friends. I am starting to make some valet leather tray based on some tutorial that I found on internet. I start by molding the leather, many tutorials about that on Internet. But then I tried to glue a piece of fabric inside but the result is not good. Should I applied some hardening on the fabric before glueing? How to avoid loose thread on the borders? Which glue would you use for this work? I'm talking about this kind of trays: http://www.remodelista.com/products/buffalo-calf-leather-tray-small

I'm not in Europe, I'm in Chile. I tried to find a local wet based glued without success. I finally got tear mender on ebay. I think some seller ships from UK. Try it.

Not quite sure about this. It is 4.8mm thick. What am I making wrong? There's a piece of leather inside the fabric.

Hi everyone, I do mainly watch strap and I usually work with RIZLA 0.6mm thread, but as I am outside US I need to buy everything online and it takes 1 month to get here, plus, I must pay shipping and import taxes, so I was thinking about buying a few complete spools to avoid falling short, as I am now. So looking on ebay I've found a chinese seller that offers 20 spools for about US$40, problem is it is 0.8mm instead of 0.6. Do you have any exemple of small work stitch with 0.8mm that you could show me or do you think 0.8 could make it on watch straps or is it too thick?

Which glue do you use that make you feel so confident? I use tear mender but I always add stitch.

Well haven't though about it really but I've been asked by a client to add a liner. Thank you. Would you add stitch as well?

How To Remove These Pen Stains?
panchoskywalker replied to panchoskywalker's topic in How Do I Do That?
Thanks for that tip, I would have never thought about it. I will try it. -
I always buy leather remnant as it allows me to get different leather for small amount of money but sometimes it comes with these stains that are made with crayons(?) I already tried alcohol and acetone to remove them, it works but does not remove all of it. Any idea guys?

Hello, I've been asked to backed a leather watch strap with fabric for allergic reasons. I have never done this, is there a way to do it? Is there a special fabric for this? Does using a piece of jeans is a good idea?

Would you say that there's 2 pieces of leather glued together? It's painted on both side. It is wet formed for sure, do you think it involve 2 pieces of wood pressed together with the leather in between? -
hello friends, I was thinking about trying to make a valet leather tray and while I was looking for some inspiration I came across this kind of tray without cutting or stitching, do you know how is this done? Picture s not mine so I removed the brand to not offend anyone.
