  1. Cute puppy. I know you're gonna have fun with him. My brother has a Terrier, named him "Speck" because he wasn't big enough to be a Spot. That dog will follow him and my nieces everywhere. And dare you to get close to the girls or you'll be walking without your ankles. LOL Enjoy your new mascot, he'll make you proud.
  2. Welcome! Good to see some of your work on here. I'm a BIG fan of your braiding. I like how the blue works with the turquoise in the concho on your wifes' case. Turned out really nice! Hope ya'll have a good weekend! Rich
  3. I change between beeswax and gum trag. Mostly depends on what's closest to me. I LOVE my wood slicker, but it seemed to have grown legs and is hiding from me. So I'm stuck with my nylon one. If I have a project I'm working with skirting leather, I have a swatch of wool tweed. (actually, it's a piece of an old tweed jacket I used to wear in the 80's) It sure aint gonna fit me anymore, plus I don't want to be mistaken as one of those eccentric professors at USC.
  4. Beautiful work. I'm envious of your patience with braiding.
  5. GREAT WORK! I hope you can find more of those boxes, I have no doubt you're gonna get alot of orders for more from your friends. I can't wait to see that one up close. Once again, you've topped yourself with your creativity and craft! Good work Tom! Rich

    Spirit of Autumn

WOW! VERY nice mask! Love the colors and 3D affect. It's 106 degrees here in the shade. I'll take as much autumn as you have to offer. Beautiful work! Rich
  7. Looking good Tom! I would certainly be cross-eyed after all that beveling. Are you going use natural lacing to compliment the knot? Good work my friend! P.S. I think I can hear you working all the way down here in town. haha
  8. Thanks for the kind words! Gives me more steam to get more work out there. I do have a secret though, the clock was my first big project. I did that for my leathercraft badge when I was 10 years old. Took me all summer long to get it finished before scouts started again in the fall. ( might can tell I have a small case of OCD ) Thanks again for the compliments, hope to have more for ya'll soon. Rich
  9. Hi Folks! Sorry about the delay. Life got a hold of me and I couldn't ignore it. Here are a couple samples of my work. Hope the pics show up well on here. I'm a novice ( to say the very least) about taking and posting pictures. Let me know whatcha think! Have a great weekend! Rich
  10. Thanks for the welcome! I think I may have found a new home here. ) I'm going to get some pics this evening and see what ya'll think of them. Hope the batteries are still good in that old Olympus. Have a good evening folks! Cya tomorrow! Rich
  11. Thank you Tom! I have a couple of pics of my smaller projects. (wallets, breif case) But I can't seem to get the camera to take a good picture. They all come out blurry and the detail is non-existent. Any pointers on taking good pictures would be most surely welcomed. Rich P.S. is there anyone else from SC a member?
  12. Hi folks! Been lurking for awhile checking out everyones GREAT work. Figured I'd best poke my head out and say "Hi" to everyone. I've been pounding leather for about 34 years. I'm not nearly as good as all of you. But I do hope to get some ideas and hopefully improve my work. I just do it for fun and helps the time go by. Now that "Big Brother" is over, I have all week to see what I can do with all this cowhide..lol Thanks for being here, you're very much appreciated by this ol man. Rich
  13. They look great! Good thing about leather, there's never scrap, just smaller pieces. Conchos really brings your tooling out too. Look forward to seeing more of your work! Rich frm SC
