I watched a video by Nigel Armitage Leather, on applying edge coat. While the edge coat was still wet, he burnished the edge. I have tried it and it works really good for my level. Now the dangerous point, I started thinking! would that also work for say an acrylic painted edge? Turns out, it does work well. I did a toconol finish and a waxing after letting the paint to dry. Durability? Don’t know, but it is on a working piece, so I will find out!…cheers!

I have a bit of hair on hide that I want to make a throw pillow, but it’s a little musty. I have put it in the sun, but would like to try to get it a little more fresh. What ideas might I try ? Thank you for your suggestions and advice! Richard

Good day! I got some hair on hide remnants, from my brother-in-law. He had a couch recovered with it, and I wanted to make a pillow case, as a thank you. The case would be HOH on one side and upholstery leather on the other side. My question: for a 16x16 pillow, what size should my panels be? Should it be approximately 1/2 the pillow thickness? I’m aware that most of the leather that I will use for belts/straps will stretch over time and use. if I don’t want it to stretch, I will use nylon ribbon, or fabric book binding tape, between the two pieces of leather. but if I just want to mitigate some of the stretch, on a single layer, will putting a stitch on the edges do that? Finally completed my new stitching pony. thanks for the inspiration. For comparison, the small one is from Amazon, it no work so good.

I did a “search”, of various wording about Stitching Pony. The biggest results was 33,800! After a month of going through them all, insert going crazy emoji here. I turn to you good people. I am looking for simple plans to build a stitching pony. That’s it. thank you Richard. ps, I didn’t really go through 33800 results!

Thank you for your help. I agree, it definitely will be a tricky one. am wondering if I could solder a wire frame that would be in between the two layers. Might work on a coin. this will require some bourbon and more thinking!

Good day, I would love to do a keychain, or something similar, that has a stone/coin with both sides visible. My questions are ; what are the key points to securing the item in place? Considering how much handling it might endure, such as a keychain/fob going in and out of a purse or pocket. ok, that’s one question, but with multiple points to consider! thank you Richard
