I don't have a pdf for it but it is called a Solomon Bar knot.

That's a Perma-Lock needle available from Tandy. I make my own with brass tubing by duck billing one end and tapping the inside of the other end.

I buy all mine from Weaver in USA and do just fine. I found the price to be competitive. Watch out that you don't buy chrome tanned hide from Australia. It's cheaper but itt doesn't make good lace.

I can help you out with 12 plait Birdseye if that will do you any good.

Here's one on ebay right now that will do everything you mentioned. They work pretty good. I have one. http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item35a6e4b6a1 -
YOU MIGHT GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY. http://www.mobile-boutique.com/clasps.aspx

The nice thing about that one also is the fact that it uses regular industrial razor blades available at any hardware store. I think the Hansen uses a special blade available only from Hansen.

Hi Joe, I bought that cutter and beveler about a year ago and it works pretty good. It's made by a guy who lives in Wild Rose, Texas and it's obvious he must be an engineer. I would say the quality is good and it works pretty good also. I use mine mainly for beveling. I made my own cutter once and I just prefer to use it instead. If there was a downside to it I would say the adjustment when beveling must be done with microadjustments. Turning the shaft by hand just a microinch. The cutter and the splitter work pretty good. Absolutely beautiful. I am in envy. I would love to be able to do this. I braid and tie knots using kangaroo but have not done anything in rawhide. Since I can't sit down beside someone who knows what they are doing and follow along I will have to pick out a very simple project and hack it out alone. Very impressive work. I would like to know how long you have been braiding rawhide.
