  1. Anyway... I was just throwing a number out there. Most I'd pay is about $20 per file. The money is in selling the file more than just one time
  2. You would sell the file more than one time.
  3. Has anyone started making printable gun blanks (aka blue guns). It would be way cheaper than buying the blue guns. I'm surprised no one with the skills has jumped on this yet. Even if I paid $10 a file, it would be well worth it.
  4. Say im looking for a Singer 45k or something? how do i identify it? all i typically see are serial numbers. and the machines all look pretty much the same to me. thanks!
  5. would anyone mind sharing a simple pattern for a speedloader pouch for a revolver? i need to make one for myself.. thanks
  6. Laminated?
  7. gotcha!
  8. yea ill be carrying a sub compact 9mm or a 38 special. sometimes iwb sometimes owb. occasionally ill add a magazine pouch. sounds like overall 10-12 should be ok from what im reading. should i get a belly or back cut? which will end up being stiffer?
  9. Yea I thought people stitched two pieces together so it was stiffer. Idk
  10. I usually carry either a 9mm or a 38 special on the own and cover it with my shirt. I'm about 150lbs soaking wet. I don't carry big guns
  11. I'm considering making a gun belt for myself over winter, I know it would be cheaper to buy one, but what's the fun in that... Anyway I know I need to make it 2 layers then stitch together, but what weight should I use and what part of the hide? Thanks. And any other tips are appreciated
  12. I think a cad file might be able to be converted. Something out there must exist, but I can't seem to find it.
  13. Anyone know where to get cad files or something for dummy guns? I have a 3d printer and it would be useful to me to be able to print a dummy gun and make a holster with it, instead of having to borrow the gun
  14. pricking iron or diamond chisel?
  15. can anyone recommend a pricking iron that is under the $200 range that isn't total garbage? I believe it when people say that its worth the price, but i just cant justify that price point right now, not this early in my learning.
  16. Tandy has their eco-flo dye on sale this month and i'm looking for something other than roon to dye holsters with. Anyone know if this stuff is any good? does it bleed alot, etc? thanks!
  17. yea, i dont know what im doing wrong, ill just use roon on other projects that dont touch metal, like card holders and such.
  18. yea it has a few coats of evoo and a few coats of snoseal.
  19. so this is the second holster i have made with vinegaroon and it screwed up a few parts on my gun. Im at a loss here. this time i just painted it on with a brush like everyone else. soaked it for a LONG time in baking soda mix, then rinsed thouroughly with water, then let the holster dry completely before putting my firearm in, and this still happened i cant have this happen to another customers gun, maybe i have to switch to something else. anyone use tandys ecoflo dyes? they are on sale this month. I just worry about bleeding off on peoples clothes. especially since a holster will get wet from sweat and stuff. that's why i thought the roon would be a good idea, but i have had nothing but problems with it.
  20. That is FANTASTIC! i want one,lol
  21. Before i am finished with an item, i usually put a few coats of evoo, then follow up with a few good coats of snoseal and heat. But nothing comes out shiny at all, infact its rather dull. Am i missing something? Im pretty sure other people use this method. Input is appriciated.
  22. What weight leather did you use?
  23. Yea. Like that. Any specs/details you can share on that?
  24. that's actually a really good idea. however i was thinking of something out of leather. Not so much for myself, but for gifts for other people.
