Yea I gave it a good rinse too. Im thinking maybe I soaked the leather in the roon for too long, not really sure.

So I made a holster for an old friend of mine I know from highschool. I used vinegaroon to dye the leather, I thought I neutralized it in the baking soda solution for plenty of time. The holster was all sealed and dried so I put the pistol in it and left it overnight, the next day I get ready to deliver the gun and pull it out of the holster and it ate away all the blueing. I felt like I was going to throw up when I saw it. I told him I would pay to fix it, and he was really cool about it. Hes in the screenprinting business and told me he has made way bigger mistakes. I still feel like a jerk though. He even said its better to make a mistake with him than some complete stranger. I soaked the holster again in the baking soda solution for even longer. Now Im gonna let it dry and try it again before I get the gun fixed. all input/ tips are welcome.

A guy is selling some 10 year old leathercraft tools in my area and has a bunch of dyes and a piece of 7-8 oz leather. Does this stuff expire? I don't want to buy it if the liquids are useless...he said they are all still liquid, but that doesn't tell me much thanks

anyone know how to sharpen diamond chisels? my son dulled the points on my 4 hole chisel and i need to know how to sharpen it. i don't know how to get into the sides of it if need be. thanks!

Does a free pattern exist for a money clip thing? I have never used one and really don't even know where to begin, I'm assuming there's some sort of spring mechanism involved. I cant imagine you would want to use magnets if you want a credit card holder on it as well. I know it sounds like a stupid question, but the pics online really don't help me much. thanks

i dont have neatsfoot oil at the moment, so water for now i guess. When i do get some though, should that be applied before or after any dye i use?

so im working on a basic knife case and as i went to bend the piece over to sew it, the leather started to crack on the edge a bit.. Anyone else ever experience this issue? how can i prevent that in the future? thanks

Here is my setup so far. The table is an old pallet that i upcycled to a table. The drawer was also saved from a dresser i upcycled to an entertainment stand almost a year ago. Im still trying to figure out how to organize stuff, but im getting there. My biggest problem is the lighting in my basement sucks!! on a side note. i made the stitching pony myself.
