First and last bag
jroberts3001 replied to stu925's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
VERY NICE!! When I make them l will usually line them with pig skin. As far as it not closing centered that could be beaus you were out of square 1/16 or 1/8 inch. It could also that strap is is off set and could be pulling the gusset opposite direction. A good way to fix that is to put the rivet through with a backing. I do a lot of these and the best way if using D-ringgs on the gussets to get the flap to close on center -
Hey guys I wanted to thank everyone for their input a couple months ago when trying to figure out what sewing machine to buy. The information really went a long way in my decision. I did end up buying the cowboy 4500, and I love it. The production I get is unbelievable. Thanks again for all the help!

I am really having a hard time figuring out what kind of machine to get! I want something I can do holster with. I really have NO idea what to look for. Can some one please help me out? Being a beginner I want to keep as much control as I can so I would prefer a machine to where I can slow down. Any suggestions would be helpful

Anything and everything I wanted

Thanks guys I've looked at both those knives and blades. I think I'm going to make the switch

How much does the thinner carving blades help in the carving? I'm thinking of getting one and I'm curious of someone who has used them. What their application is and really if their easier to carve with?

Selling Off The Contents Of My Saddlemaking Shop
jroberts3001 replied to DeerCreekSaddlery's topic in Old/Sold
I would be interested in the whole thing. I'm getting ready to start a saddle making class and will be in the market. -
Well would like to start with a treadle and work my way up from there as I gain more control. We are practically kin folk with your sister being in E-town

Probably a bad choice of words on my part. It was the same leather used to make the current military boots I was referring too

I struggle with artist block as well. It's also a Kentucky thing too!

I just recently got some military grade leather to make some moccasins. What a pain it was to hand stitch, plus it didn't have any stretch. I also make some bible covers from and those turned out pretty good. What are some of your experiences with it. Digger Joe

I've used bellies for some decorative pieces before. I usually don't fool with them

Howdy All, My name is Joe from Vine Grove KY. I did a little leather working as a cub scout then in my mid 20's I had a major brain injury and picked it up again, only to drop it for over 15 years. I gave away everything thinking I would never do it again until the guy I gave my stuff to built me a holster. Needless to say I got the bug again. As of right now I make a lot of purses, bible cover, and some holsters. I hand stitch everything until I can replace my tools i gave away then I'll be in the market for a sewing machine. I am also in the planning stages to attend saddle making school. I look forward to bouncing ideas, getting critique and sharing ideas with y'all Digger Joe

Well if patterns are sold then I say there is no copyright infringement. For example if I buy a pattern from Tandy it becomes mine The copywriter releases their claim.
