I bought the swing down edge guide for my Consew 206RB-2 along with the adapter bracket but when I screw it to the back now my foot lift arm won’t go all the way back down. What am I doing wrong? this lever won’t set all the way back down

Thanks so much yea im afraid sweat is the enemy of leather but these lasted me quite a while so if it is what it is I can make a new pair every few years or so. But definitely would love to find out how best to handle this.

Alright finally got the proper length new belt and painted the new pulley to match the badge color of the consew logo background ( yup I’m weird ) now I’m waiting for my edge guide to come in and I’ll be off to the races!

I am making my own exotic skin camera straps I want to make my own snake skin ones but the older one i bought start to brown in color. Now I sweat like an ogre so I will need to waterproof my new ones somehow. Do i use something like resoline on the snakeskin AND veg tan backing? What would be the best process to use AND is this something ill need to do every year or so? or one and done? thanks! Here are pics of the straps im using as you can see my sweat from my shoulders have discolor the leather and looks like the leather may have bled through the snake skin? Just curious whats going on here and how to prevent it. Just installed a 6” pulley 1/2” Bore from grizzly and it fits perfectly and has two screws which will grip the shaft perfectly. Finally got the thread balanced right and tested it on some veg tan with hard lizard skin glued on top and that machine ate through it like butter! Now I just need to figure out the best edge coating to use and I’ll be off to the races!

Alright after further inspection there might be a few points that are causing the thread to fray a bit. Apparently, I'm missing a square piece of felt that goes here the thread rides on.. anyone know where i can get one? or roll my one? Here are other pics of the plate ( which looks to be another part that needs to be replaced which could cause fraying ) Here are a few more pics to check as well

Alright so I spent a few hours and i THINK I finally got something somewhat usable. I tightened the bobbin a bit then tightened and loosened the top stitch and it seems to be going pretty consistent now. Let me know if the stitch is ok? It's not very straight but I'm still practicing. Does anyone know where I can get an edge guide for my Consew 206RB? Is it normal for the top thread to shred up a little bit? I see some of the fibers are standing up a bit. Do i use a lighter to burn the edges a bit?

Just got my Bonded nylon thread and needles from CowboyBob SUPER fast shipping and best price! #207 Top thread, #138 bobbin thread, 135x16D size#23 needle ran it through the machine seemed to run just fine but when I did a back stitch to test it got a little mucked up. Any ideas on how to fix this? Also i see the knot on the bottom of the stitch on the back, does that knot need to be up into the middle of the leather? if so how do i adjust the machine to do that? Also how can i adjust the foot pressure to lighten it up a bit so it doesn't push so hard on the leather? FRONT BACK Thanks! Consew 206RB n00b!

so it won't sew tough lizard skins? or alligator? stingray? what would you recommend for tougher leather skins? nothing crazy thick but tougher than fabric

Well, color me impressed with the 206RB-2 it sewed through 3 layers of VEG TAN equaling 3/8 thick of veg tan. I don't think its the proper needle and definitely not the proper thread so I can't wait to get those and then give it a try

I want to add a zigzag machine to my collection so i can sew exotic skins ( lizard, snake, etc ) together with that tight zigzag pattern in order to make them long enough to cover a belt. What would be a good zigzag machine(s) to look out for to compliment my Consew 206RB-2?

So I just cleaned out the bottom gear of all the old grease now I need to clean out the upper gear BUT this plate with the wicks are in my way :/ anyone know how to pull these out? One of the wicks is knotted and and few other ones are keeping the plate down any ideas?
