  4. All righty then, I want to make a dog leash. I want it sturdy but with a nice soft touch. I have 3,5 mm veg.tan natural leather. The question is: When do I start to treat the leather with oil/wax to get it soft? If I want to dye it, do I wait untill I have had my finish on top before I start the oiling treatment? Before? After? During? Thank you in advance from the total newbi
  5. Cool! And you really should come visit! I worked a summer in Valdres, between Fagernes and Gol, with horses, the nature there is spectakular!
  6. Thank you! I love it, even if I struggle with something, I can always change project to something I (kind of) master :D

  9. There is is, so much difference! I'm going to work on my tools with my power multitool, and use them for practice. I am SO far away from being a prof. anyway. But my dream is to be able to carve a dog silouet (saluki preferbly) in leather and be proud of my work.
  10. Are we seeing some improvement? I took my multitool and gave my tools a workover and sharper edges. And moved to a more sturdy work space. Still think I need a better blade for my knife and better tools though.
  11. Thank you! Guess I just have to use the money on better tools...
  12. Oh thanks! Where can I buy them? I can buy som her in norway but the price is about 15 dollars each , and shipping close to 20... I kind of meed to know that it is worth it, leather is an expencive hobby.

  14. This is my second ever swivel knife try, so please be kind. I just can't se to get the knife marks right. What am I doing wrong? Not right saturated? To deep cutting? Wrong punsle tool?
  15. Thank you! I have dogs - but grown up "boring" dogs that will not chew But i'll save it for my new puppy who might be arriving in a few months. :D
  16. As a complete novice in the leather world, I find the learning curve very steep. I have allready failed miserably in some projects, but I learn SO much every time. Sooo... Show me your failed projects and tell me what you learned "not to do" :D
  17. That is cool to read :D I have never touched a gun, unless you count airguns.
  18. In Norway i think most are into doggcollars and horse tacks. Real good handcraft is underpriced and underapriciated here, you can allways go on ebay and buy some cheap chinaproduct for much less. And we have very strick gun laws so holsters would not sell much.
  19. Thank you :D Experimenting with coin purse
  20. Wow! I love your carving Not being helpfull, sorry. Just amazed.
  21. This is the "ready" items so far. Not completly happy with the bloodknot keychain, might redo them.
  22. Thanks! Both of you :D :D I hate the pricing part though... It is hard to price things.
