  1. I’ve been trying for 30 minutes to post a picture and it won’t let me. it’s industrial grey with white knobs.
  2. And I was wrong about the model number. It’s a model 60. i will add a photo when I get home.
  3. Ok, so I got the machine. Ordered 277 bonded nylon thread and 140/22 needles. The needle and thread are too big for the hole in the plate. They get stuck. If I step down to a # 92 bonded nylon thread and 110/18 needle would that thread be strong enough for 8oz leather or less?
  4. It’s an older model 6031 extra heavy duty. But in really good condition. Already purchased it. It should be here next week.
  5. I’m about to take things up a notch for myself. I’m going to an industrial Pfaff sewing machine for stitching holsters, sheathes and other items. Keep in mind I just do this as a hobby, making items for myself, family and friends. it would really help if some of you could post pictures of your machine setups. Thanks
  6. I like the use of the two pen loops to keep it closed. Very nice!
  7. I don’t want to be the one to break custom. Here ya go.
  8. Just made this one Saturday for my hand made knife I just bought.
  9. Can someone please tell me the correct method for getting belt lengths correct? And what is the best way to get names or other stamps centered on the back of the belt?
  10. Thanks. The Indian head was a Tandy stamp I had. After I put it on,I started working the arrow head using border and shading tools.
  11. These pictures are not the best of quality. But this is my first attempt at a rifle sling. Though not perfect, I was happy with how it turned out.
  12. I’ve been wondering about this myself. I just made my first belt buckle with western diamondback skin on it a few weeks ago. It was a pain in the neck getting the needle through the scales for the double loop border stitch. Then after wearing it a couple of times, the scales started falling off anyway. I messed up on my start and stop with the double loop stitch as you can see in the photo. Ended up tearing it out and redoing it.
  13. Thanks. It was definitely a great learning experience. There was the issue with the straps and a couple of other things that I’ll do differently during the process.
  14. I was really happy with how this turned out. It was only my second attempt at basket weave.
  15. These were trial and error. I messed up on my strap lengths, they don’t extend past the snap heads, but they still work. I know to pay closer attention to this next time.
  16. Ok,I got my border stamps and the main center stamp done. Im really happy with the way they turned out. I just finished staining all the pieces. Once it has set long enough I'll assemble it and post a picture.
  17. I just finished staining the pieces for my first project. How long should I let the stain set before I assemble it?
  18. Greetings from the north west corner of South Carolina. I'm just getting started in leather work. So please bear with me. I have a lot to learn.
  19. Thank for the information. I'll try some scrap pieces tomorrow. And thanks for the tip on the striking surface.
  20. Im just getting started and about to start my first project. But I need a little guidance on stamping. Mainly on wetting the leather. How much should I wet the leather. And do I let it dry some before stamping? If so, how do I know when it is ready to stamp?
