    I've read a couple posts about Bob Douglas leatherworking tools (awls, portable stitching pony, etc.) and it sounds like they are very good. Does anyone know how I might get in contact with Bob or does he have a web site?

    Thanks for the links Chuck. I'll be picking up one or both of those next month as I'm getting a couple books, punches and a mallet this month.

    I'm going to get a copy of "Sheridan Style Carving" and perhaps a copy of "Learn Sheridan Style Tooling" by Chan Geer also. Then I just plan to work at it a ton and keep checking back here for more tips. Hidepounder, I checked out your gallery - your work is incredible! I can see why leatherrookie is studying your work. Thanks for the recommendations folks!

    Thanks for the reply leatherrookie. I've seen that book and I was wondering if it was a good for a beginner. I'm glad you mentioned the Journal too.

    I'm pretty new to leather carving in general. What are some good books, DVDs, etc. for someone just starting out with sheridan carving?

    I'm looking for good DVDs and books on making knife sheaths and gun holsters. One I'm looking for is Custom Knife Sheaths by Chuck Burrows but I'm open to other good DVDs. Please send me an email at ttasischesso@aol.com if you have any good knife making or holster making DVDs or books for sale.
