The pictures are examples of how it should not be. Uwe has some excellent videos detailing how to adjust timing / whole machine! Timing is not correct. Check to see if the safety clutch needs to be reset. Second video is to set timing.

FSForge, Any progress with the machine not picking the bobbin thread?

Found this on Supsew.com site. Shows timing for a DB2-B792. Don’t know how similar it is to your machine.

My Consew bobbin holder is similar. Thread should be loaded CW. Thread should come out from under the tension spring on the end.

Needle looks bent. Machine is not timed correctly.

Looks like the ratchet wheel needs to be moved over to line up with the button. Make sure the set screw lines up with the groove in the shaft. You should be good to go!

Welcome aboard! Had many of the same questions with my machine. Lots of good info here, just have to keep searching and reading! I have the Consew 226 that is the same as the SEIKO you have. The reverse lever is spring loaded , you have to hold the reverse lever down while reverse stitching. I have the roller lever from a 206 RB-5 on the machine. Using the assembly drawing (lower) from a SEIKO STH-8BLD-3, the shaft center line is 210 mm. Also found a drawing (top) for a 206RB-1, center line is 182 mm. What placement should I use? Can anyone get a measurement from their machine? Thanks. .

Gymnast, Thanks for that info. Never realized about the relationship of needle size to diameter. I thought it had more to do with the hole size that thread goes through. I guess it’s a combination of both.

Pierick, I am having the same problems with doing all the adjustments on a 206RB-1. Machine was sitting so long, had to do some removal of parts to clean it. And yes the RB-5 doesn’t have all the same components, making it difficult to service it correctly. Thanks for solving one of the things I needed to make an adjustment to. Here’s what happens when the thread goes around the pin! This is what’s on the 206RB-1 I just bought. Don’t know how long it takes, but it will wear.

Consew 206RB-1 I just acquired has a worn tensioner pin from routing the thread around it.

Was talking to a coworker about my Consew 226 I just got, he tells me about a neighbor that has two industrial machine for sale. Price was $100 for both. I go and check them out, a Singer 211G166 and a Consew 206RB-1. Well I couldn’t leave without taking one! So I got the Consew. Machine looks decent but needs some work. The seller said last time it was used was about ten years ago. Going to go through it, normal clean up, lube and adjusting. My question is, what lube to put in the bevel gears?

What is the difference in thread size for the standard hook #33-B1830-563-0A0 and the heavy thread hook #42-B1830-563-BA0 that is used in the LU-563?

Thanks kgg and nylonRigging for the suggestions. The machine is not bound up. I sewed with it before I bought it. Everything works as it should. Will do a little of both, some fuel, brushes and compressed air blow off. Then lube everything. Thanks again!

Hi to everyone! I’m new to the site. Lots of knowledge to be gained here. Just got a Consew 226. Mechanisms are good but needs a little TLC. It came from an upholstery shop, so it has a good bit of dust build up around the oiled parts. Like to know the best way to clean / degrease it. Didn’t want to use a water based product like Gunk, that used for cleaning engines. So I wouldn’t have to dry it off / out. Thanks!
