Here’s a small bag I did recently.

It's all about what you like to do. When I started I did the same. Then after I learned some techniques it got a little easier but there is still more I am practicing.

haha thank you, yes handstitched. I didn't know that pattern name thanks for sharing. I think I will not stitch all the way to the edge next time, it was annoying to try and match the stitching.

Thanks guys. I want to do another one in brass. I have all the hardware. I was having some luck finding customers who want belts but it takes me so long to make what I want to make that it's not worth my time. I will upload a belt here soon that I am working on. It's turning out really nice. It's a stitched belt that will take me close to 15 hours. I am really discouraged right now as I had to close down my studio that I was building and am in the process of moving everything into my apartment. I am not finding the right customers but I am also just a little bit too slow...

*how do I find people who are interested in luxury leather goods? Seems impossible to me...

The abrasion I'm referring is to about this "I had thought that someone may have tried to remove the black dye since the top of the holster looks like that could have been the case, but most likely from a waist coat rubbing on it.". We are both thinking the same thing. When I say "water barrier" I am referring to any finishing oil or wax that acts as a protective shield or barrier between the leather and water or moisture.

When the leather is not protected, water gets in there and increases the size of the hole. The thread could not be waxed enough. Dirt and junk gets in there and rots. The dye is probably oil based so the wear would be from abrasion.

The thread is not the problem Just clean it with saddle soap, add new thread that is larger diameter (make sure to wax it), and add a water barrier.
