  1. That's nice! Sometimes simple can look quite amazing.
  2. Ordered, thanks
  3. Leads me to believe that maybe other people have the same concerns as me?
  4. Yup, same her, started packing a couple years ago. I bought a plasmatic gun a year ago and took it to the range, stove piped 6 times in 100 rounds using various ammo, stopped at Rockies on the way home traded for a wheel gun. It hasn't stove piped yet. I have a black one also. Same pattern but the brown one is prettier lol
  5. I cant speak for the others but my bond arms was probably one of the toughest holsters Ive made. I know your pain. I took mine and dropped the trigger guard and then ordered a 3" barrel for it and the next holster was still diffucult but turned out much prettier. I used a metal clip to attatch to my belt so I can take it off easier when in a vehicle and such. The thing I dont like about the bond arms is the serious lack of accuracy. I used to shoot on the police team in my home town and even with that training and experience I cant get mine to shoot strait. Still better than throwing rocks I guess, just gotta be close.
  6. I've always carried my phone in my left pocket and since I haven't been, my leg feels weird like a "cool feeling". I think their is something to it?
  7. From the report I watched, the leather ads a degree of supression. Same with store purchased holsters, the material helps greatly. Your right though, even the hip is prolly too close, the testies are mostly fluid and they get hit hard by RF ions, whaterver they call it. Thats why im thinking about metal sheeting or mesh sandwitched between the layers between me and my phone. Im sure in ten years we'll find out that something else weve done all our life is going to kill us but hey, who wants to live forever? My fathers cancer started in his testies and it spred through his body FAST!!
  8. So far I'm finishing up my third holster, all three are different sizes because phones are diffent in width and thickness so I've had to just make a different pattern for each one. Each tongue would need to be adjusted to different size also. I can take a picture of my pattern so you can get an idea how I made it? That's perfect, thanks. Out of stock though Even the back pocket is too close to the testies maybe an ankle holster?
  9. Was just thinking, the black holster has a skirting on the back like a real holster. Would I benefit from more protection if I cut a piece of aluminum plate to sandwich between the layers? On the other hand, maybe it would amplify the RF frequency? Thanks for the compliments
  10. Thanks I actually prefer to carry my phone in my pocket and never wanted a holster for it but, I recently read a report about how bad that is for the gonads sooooo... Dont want cancer there.
  11. Problem is, Im running out of pistols so I had an idea to make holsters for my cell phone and MP3 player. I only have the two finished and friends and friends of family are trying to put in orders for theirs. If anyone wants to make sellers I bet youd be busy with these. Im not interested (already have a job).
  12. Yeah, I didn't dye the carvings, I just used black antiquing on them but it didn't "pop" like I wanted it to. I even lifted the leaves, still didn't pop. Thanks for the compliments
  13. Tried a black one. Im not real impressed with it
  14. A while back my buddy brought me a unique project. Thought he was going to stump me. Hahaha! He almost did. His father died and left him a morphadite pistol. Dont laugh at the pistol, he and I were able to zero in on a 10" steel plate at 300 yds and make hit after hit using cheap ammo. I wanted to make the holster/scabbard to strap to the shift lever in his truck but he said the company didnt allow him to carry in his semi. So I put a handle on the top (I dont like the way the handle turned out but it was one of my first) and then a row of bullet loops under it. Anyhow... Thought I would show :-)
  15. About a year and a half ago my father took sick with the cancer. He was always an active person and loved his tractors but started spending more time inside than outside so I made him this notebook to aid in his inside activity. He was always taking notes while looking for tractor paraphanalia so having the paper notebook accessible while looking on his electronic notebook was in his opinion perfect. We all die and he was no exception but, up until his last days he used this notebook for everything, even taking it to the coffee shop with him every morning to talk tractors with the other old geizers he spent time with. The carving was stolen off the internet and I slightly modified it to fit this notebook. I think it is probably one of my better projects :-)
  16. I picked up 5 or 6 sides of veg tanned sienna a while back, would that be a good choice? I only have black but maybe I can make a two tone black Grey scabbard next?
  17. Yup, Thats what Ive heard. LOL cleaning isnt a problem, my firearms are immaculate, especially my long range rifles. Does suede harbor moisture also? Seems that it would?
  18. I picked up a hide on sale and its been sitting around my house for too long so I figured I would try a pair of chaps for my grand daughter. Chaps take time and patients!!! Anyhow, I got the pockets too low and the fringe didnt work to my expectations but they look cool on her. I tried to teach her the "cowboy strut" too but she was too embarrassed to play along. HAHAHA! They would look better if she was wearing jeans though. lol
  19. Thats good to know, Thanks
  20. Yes I do, they are both lined with brown suede Thanks I have heard that suede is hard on gun metal finishes but other than bark tanned wool I dont know what else to use?
  21. Actually, they are both "british tan" but the leather is from two different cows and the same bottle of dye? I dont know why one was a different shade other than the variables in different cows? My goal was a little lighter on both scabbards. Then of course the straps are from the same cow yet they are lighter than the scabbard? I really struggle with matching colors.
  22. Built a couple Id like to show off. I have deficiencies in one that Ill address on the next one I build. The scabbard with the brand in it is for my son. I dont do horses anymore (they always hurt me) and at my age I dont heal as easy as I used to so both of these scabbards are designed to sling over the shoulder as well as a saddle
  23. On the first one,the ends didn't match up. The second one matched up but the zipper was wrinkled and wavy, im looking for the picture. The second one I was using your marking technique.
  24. Wow! I like those!
