Hey guys, I don't post much on here but and grateful for all of the information I've gotten as a lurker! Anyway, I am selling our Weaver Leather "Mighty Wonder" 4-Ton Clicker Press. I love the machine and am only selling it because we make larger products now that made more sense to click on a larger machine so we got the 8-Ton clicker press from Weaver. We've had it for less than 6 months and never abused it, it's in great shape and still has plenty of the original grease keeping it a smooth operating machine. I'm located in north Austin, Texas. Local pickup only, don't have the crate anymore that it came in to ship it. I'm willing to deliver it to a nearby city like San Antonio if needed. Price is $900 I'll upload photos soon!

Shoemakers in Connecticut here, inquiring about clicker dies. We just purchased a USMC Model "C" clicker press and are eager to work it into our shoemaking process. Has anyone here had experience making clicker dies? Ordering clicker dies? I was looking at Swanson in New Hampshire as a possible die maker ... Is one die better than another? Is one die maker better/cheaper than another? Should I keep using shears until I can't keep up with my orders? Seriously though, I would love to hear anyone's experiences with clicker dies. Thanks.

I have a TIppmann, barely used, with table. Doesn't work with my dies and finally found a swing arm clicker. This is good for small stuff on consistent material like veg tan shoulders or rubber, etc. New press alone is $1800, but I'll sell mine for $1000, including stand. I'm in Commerce GA. It would be really tough for me to ship, it is HEAVY. But I would try - you pay shipping.

Anyone looking for a clicker press should checkout the Alpha Sample Cutter presses made by Thwing-Albert Instrument Company of West Berlin, NJ, USA. They have two models whose specifications seem to exactly match those of the Tippman presses. The link below will take you to the 15-ton press. You will find a link to the 7-ton press at the bottom of the page. http://www.thwingalbert.com/15ton-alfa-sample-cutter.html While shipping and import taxes make them cost FAR too much here in Bangkok, back there in the States they may cost less than the Tippman versions if you purchase them directly from the manufacturer. If anyone checks it out, please, let the rest of us know what you find out. Cheers! Maverick PS: In the first version of this post the link I included only took you to Thwing-Albert's landing page. The link above takes you directly to the 15-ton press.

Hello all, I desperately need some expert help!! I make elastic Y-back suspenders in six different colors for children, and I'd like to change the leather patch on the back. Right now, I use a faux leather in three different colors and would like to transition to one color that I can have my company name embossed on. I'm extremely green when it comes to working with genuine leather. I've searched around locally and no one can really help me start from the beginning, which is to determine the best leather to use as a back patch for suspenders. The only recommendation I've been given is to maybe try a veg tan leather. My dilemma with that is this: 1) It's not dyed! Yes I do need a color that matches all six suspender colors, but I have no idea about dyeing leather. I can find a color I think might work on the internet, but it's just a picture. I still need to know what color dye to pick and how to dye it. Can someone please tell me if veg tan is really my only option to get the right color leather needed? I don't have the expertise to do what needs to be done with veg tan and no here seems to either or at least they don't want to help. Any recommendations on how to find more potential colors or someone to dye it for me because me dyeing it isn't an option? 2) As explained to me 2/3 oz veg tan is the lowest weight in that type but it still seems too thick for these suspenders. Would you agree? I need something that can be sewn on a sewing machine but not flimsy. 3) After I've found the right leather and color, I need it to be embossed. Can you please advise the best way to make this happen? People have mentioned laser engraving to me. I've also been told about stamps you can buy. Recommendations? 4) Lastly, I've been told that this is the process I need to follow to reach the end result of the actual back patch (assuming I go with veg tan) : once the leather is bought, have the shape clicked out, dye the shape, emboss/engrave the shape, then put a finish on it. Would you agree? Is the process pretty much the same if it's already dyed (click, emboss, finish)? As a side note, I had a die of the shape professionally made, but I do not have a clicker press. It would be optimal if I can find an appropriate weight leather for suspenders that is already dyed to the right color and would emboss well. Please help!!! Thank you! C Pack

Hello, I was wondering if anyone here knows about the difference in quality between a Schwabe clicker press and an Atom clicker press? Are they basically the same machine and both can be trusted? Thanks!

Pick up only in Kerrville Texas. This press is almost like new! I has been used very little! It came out of a strength testing lab. I have had it about one year and I had purchased it to back up the new one that I bought 2 years ago. I have decided that I need the room more than a backup press and I have purchased crank splitter that I will put in its place. Here is a link and pictures that I have on Craigslist of it. -- Tex http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/tls/3900840742.html

Hi All. I have been looking at an old clicking press that is up for sale. Its a Ramsden & Chaplin, Serial No. 31, 1.5hp. Made in Melbourne Australia. I would say it is over 60 years old? The seller has no idea of the ton pressure(my guess would be 5 ton) and said it worked well the last time he used it. By the look of the pictures it seems it has been either left outside for a while or uncovered in the workshop. It will be difficult for me to test it. Im in another state of Australia. It will take a 12 hour drive to get there. Any thought? Is it worth buying? Thanks. Marj

Lucky again. Three years ago, I came over an old German clicker press for sale here in my hometown. Used clicker presses are seldom for sale here. It was an old Sandt 8 ton press and the seller wanted 1100 $ for it. I wanted it badly, but my budget said no. I just had to forget all about it. Here the other day when I was cleaning up my email inbox, I found the emails about the clicker. I wondered if the seller had sold it or if it still was available. I sent him an email, and the seller answered “call my”. I called him and he told me he still had it. Since I had spoken to him three years ago he had to close down his leather business and get an other job, he could not survive economically. The clicker still was in his old workshop and it had to be moved out yesterday. He said; “I got to move it. So if you still want it, just pick it up and it is yours“. The answer was of course “yes, thank you very much Sir” I am grateful for the machine. However, I feel a bit sorry for the guy who had to close down his shop. I know he had trained six years in UK schools to become a saddler and now he have to work with something completely different. He still has a small workshop in his basement and is in need of a heavy stitcher. I do have three for sale and I will provide him with one at a very reasonable price, which is the least I can do. I still have not been able to get it in to my shop, because of the amount of snow here for the moment. Its no rush, I still do not have any tools for it either. Therefore, all tips about clicking dies and embossing plates are highly welcome. I have won some polyethylene stamps from duck traders on EBay, I do not know if they are any good. I have a maker stamp in the same material and that is very durable. Time will show. I will also need a poly clicking board on top of the wooden blocks; the wood is not hard enough. I have three wooden blocks for it and they all need to be leveled again. (The picture of the press is of low quality). Thanks Tor

Greetings! This is my first post/question, been perusing for some time and have learned a lot from these forums. Here comes the question... Does anybody think this particular machine would work as a clicker press? The issue I could see arising is that the die I would be cutting (hopefully) is roughly 7"x 9", the cutting surface is sufficient size for this. I'm just wondering if I would get consistent & even pressure for a uniform cut. The leather would be about 5 oz. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks!!! http://www.tecre.com/catalog.php?p=159
