Spanish Civil War Ammo Pouches
alfredleatherworks posted a gallery image in Gallery- Our Leatherwork
From the album: Finished Projects
A small run of Spanish Civil War ammo pouches I did for a friend who was into historical reenacting. These were based off of photos from the era and an existing replica I had access to (the darker pouch in the upper-left, which I repaired as well). All made from 8-10 oz veg-tan leather, solid brass hardware and copper saddle rivets. Hand-sewn with linen and hemp thread (linen for the repaired pouch as that is what it was made with, and hemp for the new ones I made because I preferred the higher tensile strength and greater resistance to rot).-

From the album: Finished Projects
This kidney belt pouch pattern was made by Dark Horse Workshop. The backplate/lid, belt loops, and center strip were all made of 5-6 oz veg-tan and dyed with Green Fiebing's Pro Dye. The dye was airbrushed with the carving masked off, then the carving was given a coat of Fiebings Pro Resist before rubbing the whole thing down with Fiebing's Medium Brown Antique Paste. A final clear coat of Fiebing's Leather Balm with Atom Wax was applied and bused. The antler was cut from a skull gifted to me. The drawstring pouch was made from chocolate brown chrome-tanned upholstery hide. The "stone" set in the lid is acrylic, sourced from a maker on Amazon.-

Hi all, Not a repost I promise. I made one of these for myself a couple of weeks ago and had some spare time, so made a small batch as stock pieces with a few design changes. I was not particularly happy with the stitching first time round so went for a much tighter stitch on these, which goes around the bottom corners much better and is generally more appropriate for a smaller case anyway I think. The overall proportions have also been very slightly tweaked. These are all wet formed directly around the knife, and hand tooled/stitched etc. Colours are fiebings pro, black, mahogany and dark brown, with natural veg tan liners. I hope you like them Cheers Alex

Swiss Army Knife case
AlexOstacchini posted a topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Hi all This is a leather Swiss army knife belt pouch, made to replace my old faithful victorinox one bought around 10 years ago. The case has been wet formed directly around the knife, hand stitched, and tooled with a little bit of western acanthus stuff. The main reason the old one failed was because of the velcro flap, so this one has a press stud instead, which I think is better. The back piece has a veg tan liner, I always tend to do this and it is as much to hide any horrible dye blotches as it is to make a nicer product... Not the greatest stitching in the world on this one, the main offenders being the horrible spacing around the bottom corners, but as this was for me and not a customer i'm not too fussed about that. Also please ignore the business card, this is not an advert, but these are the photos I have. I hope you like it, Cheers Alex -
Hi folks, been off the site for a while but I'm still reading and learning and getting a few things done. Made this last week for a charity auction. Slightly altered the sporran I made before to include a strap and put a belt loop on the back. That's their logo on the front.

Hello again, here is another of the projects I did for myself over the holiday break. I've been wanting to create an alternative for carrying some of my everyday items like phone, wallet, keys, earbuds, etc. that replaces the full pack I usually carry. I've tried this out and about a couple of times now and I am pleased with it. Let me know what you think. :-)

From the album: Bison leather belt bag / belt pouch / hip bag
I was going for a renaissance type look by using the natural edge of the buffalo hide for the flap and a rolled leather button for the closure system.- 2 comments
