Hello ever one I have just recently bought a few singer 29k71, 72, 60,62, 51, 70, and in my search of numbers, manuals, dates and also history I have not found anything on why there are some of the machines that are Grayish blue in color???? Does anyone know a reason or is it that singer just want to change the color that year/model! I have one 29k71 that is grayish blue with a SN# EX644466 it has a tag on it that shows 29k71 but when I look it up on singer it shows it is a 132k??? don't know why???? I have a opportunity to purchase one of the same color but it is a 29k73 long arm small bobbin. Are these color machines anything special or just a color change? Thank you Crfiremech

This saddle was on the forum 3 years ago, thought I'd put it on again to see if there is any new or different info available from anyone. Three years ago, comments pointed me to the Bona Allen saddle from the mid-fifties, factory made. Any other info, not only about the maker's mark, is appreciated. Does anyone have an idea of value? Here's the info I posted about it in 2013. I have an old western saddle rescued from a camp's barn that is tooled all over except for the seat. The faintness of the tooling on the pommel and yoke and left fender indicate it was well used for a long time. There is some tooling on the cantle. It has conchos with leather strips. Behind the cantle, sewn to the skirt, is a leather tab with the number 485 stamped on it. I have searched all over for a maker's mark and didn't see one until I used a strong light. There MAY be a maker's mark in the center of the top of the horn. The mark is almost totally worn away, but I can see part of a circle. When using a pencil rubbing, there may be a sideways 8. After looking at Bona Allen maker's marks, I wonder if this sideways 8 is the top part of the 2 B's on the Allen mark. This mark on my saddle's horn would be small. Anybody have any info about saddle makers who placed their mark on the top of the horn?

I have these tools I bought at an auction a while back. I need help identifying what their use is. I do mainly saddle and harness work, so if they are for shoe/boot work, they are for sale or trade. I haven't found a use for them yet but Maybe if I knew what they were for, who knows ??? That awl haft is solid iron. Why would you need a haft made of iron ?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Here is a gallery of images of the leather I came across a large amount of leather at an auction that I got for cheap. I believe most of the leather is latigo, but I am a complete amateur at this and hope you guys can help me identify and solve my mold problem so I can make some stuff out of this horde of hides. I attached a picture of the thickness of the average latigo hide just for reference. Right now I am using a 1/16 mix of bleach and water with copious amounts of saddle soap. I was reading around the website and I plan to spray them with a mix of Listerine and white vinegar. Do you guys have any suggestions on the mold problem or could lend a look to identify what type of tanning was used? p.s.: Thank you. I just joined this forum and I already have more projects on my list!

An old freind of mine found a beautiful antique elastic leather repair machine, and he really wants to get it back into operating condition. Problem is we have no idea what kind of machine this is. I cant find alot of information on the machine but will be having a better look at it tonight. I would like to know who manufactured this machine and if there is any availability on parts. Maybe model #, year, maker, anything to help with my search. Thanks
