I have used the 1245 manual to center the feed dog in the throat plate, and I can center the needle fore and aft in the needle hole, but yet to figure out how to move the needle bar left/right. Help!

Pfaff 145 – 545 and Cowboy Questions These two Pfaffs are for sale semi locally 150 miles away. The asking price for the 145 is $750 and $850 for the 545. Naturally they have crappy pictures of the machines. As do all Craigs list pictures. The 145 The 545 What are the differences in the two models? Are these prices reasonable? What should I be aware of as possible problems with these Pfaffs? There is also a Cowboy cylinder arm machine with an asking price of $2100. Claims to be essentially brand new. Naturally they don’t list a model number. To me, it doesn't seem to match any of the current Cowboy machines exactly. But I’m guessing it’s an older version of the 3200(?) Thoughts on this one? Of course a question or two to the seller would clear that up. Just wanted to take advantage of all the helpful folk here to see if any of these were worth perusing. Thank You, All the Best, Jeff

Great machine if you can’t afford to spend thousands on a leather sewing machine. I’m starting nursing school and won’t have the time for it and I need money. https://redding.craigslist.org/for/d/igo-pfaff-545-walking-foot-industrial/7216319921.html

make / manufacturer: Pfaff model name / number: 545 Industrial sewing machine for sale PFAFF 545 with new servo motor for SALE Craigslist add has pics and details. https://redding.craigslist.org/for/d/igo-pfaff-545-walking-foot-industrial/7216319921.html I bought this in the hopes of taking my leather working game up another notch, but I just got into nursing school and won’t have the time for it. Plus I need the money for school. I researched this a ton before purchasing it. It’s a beautiful sturdy old machine made in Germany and very well built. I updated it with a servo motor by Reliable, the Sewquiet 6000sm, which costs about 190$. This motor is well reviewed and the company gets great reviews as well, if you ever have any difficulties with it. I still have the clutch motor available also, the installation is very simple. I bought the machine and table from a store in San Francisco that was going out of business. They were using it to make canvas and leather bags. 1,400$ and I’ll deliver it anywhere in southern Oregon to the Bay Area. If you want it delivered then there’s a 500$ deposit with the rest payable on delivery. Or 1,215$ and you’ve got to come pick it up yourself with someone to help move it. It’s pretty heavy. I live near Redding. You should have some familiarity with this machine, I won’t be able to show you much about it as I just got it and haven’t had time to get to know it well. Lots of YouTube videos available. I’m not trying to make money on it, I’m just trying to get back the money I’ve put into it. So no lowballing please.

Does anyone have this spare part for a Pfaff 545? It's the linkage on the back of the machine that transfers knee lift movement to the head. I was using the knee lift and heard a sound like a wrench hitting the floor. Ugh, the linkage rod broke in two. It's a 545 H4 high lift model. Anyway, couldn't find one online. Anyone have one for sale?

I need to replace the needle bar on my Pfaff 545. The integral thread guide broke, so I ordered a new needle bar, and I have the new part. I removed the hook, and loosened the needle bar, but when I try to slide it down and out it hits other parts. It seems to contact the mechanism that drives the feed dogs. Do I continue disassembly of the feed dog mechanism, or is there an easier way? Remove the needle bar holder and slide it to the left? Thanks for any input you can offer.

To begin - a big thank you to all the knowledgeable people who share their expertise and excellent sense of humor on this website! Can't imagine attempting anything related to these big machines without you! So...I'm hoping someone knows the answer to my question. I recently acquired a Pfaff 545 H3 - 6/01 CLMN (whatever that all means). I bought it with the intent to sell. It came with the entire table set up as well as three huge bobbins. It was covered in dust but no rust and the underside looked good (meaning clean, no rust and no oil build-up). It sews - very well, I might add. It's freaking amazing is what is it. Huge, powerful, and I'm finding it relatively easy to work on in terms of cleaning and understanding the functions of all the parts. I took off the tension assembly in the front - all the pieces came off. I took photos so that I could remember where everything went. When I removed the metal plate that held the two tensioners in place (part #91-000 412-25 on the diagram), there was another piece of black metal screwed to the back of it (#91-010 186-15) . Then when I unscrewed that piece to take it off to clean it, I heard that dreaded sound of metal hitting the floor. A teensy tiny metal rod (#91-010 185-05 ) had fallen out and I haven't a clue as to where it goes or what it does on the machine. It's circled in red on the parts diagram, but there is no indication of where it goes or how it attaches. Is there someone out there who can help? Thanks in advance!

Hi all, My first post here, and like many new members I am looking for advice on a machine purchase. I have the opportunity to buy a pfaff545 H2 B6 but am unsure whether it will do the heavier leather work. It is hard to find info on the H3, and any advice would be greatly appreciated. The H3 seems much more common. Thanks in advance , Ken Melbourne Australia
