Anybody made one of these?

Recommended Posts

It’s a cozy for a Yeti water bottle. Friend had this made many years ago and wants another for his son. Drum is riveted and I guess I will do so as well as it will be stronger and more industrial looking. Can’t figure out how they did the bottom plug. Is it a seam to the outside for both pieces? For sure hand sewn. 66402B41-328D-4458-886A-096BD30256F3.thumb.jpeg.46aec0199bf26fc1413be8dc30227551.jpeg

Yes, a seam through both outsides. Bevel the edges of both the base plug and the inside of the sides. then sew through at an angle.

Theres a section in Al Stohlmans  ' The Art of Hand Stitching' book  about stitching round items. Really good book.

What size thread would you hand stitch the bottom in with? I have 1 mm lace and 207 polyester. Probably need something in between.

I sew the bottom of my dice cups with 1 mm thread or lace. Actually, all the thread sewing on my dice cups is 1mm thread, or if I need a certain colour I use 0.8mm thread because that colour isn't available in 1mm from where I buy it
