That sounds delicious, @Handstitched it makes me want to try silverside. My Grampy used to make a soup with it, but it was the canned corned beef.

We have temperatures hovering around zero, and it has me thinking of making some more leather stuff. I have a bunch of wallets boxed up, but don't have any ideas for other stuff to make and store.

Mostly, I have been enjoying low-risk (i.e. - small) projects, as when I screw up it costs less in leather. I haven't found a dog collar design I like enough (though I do have hardware) and am a bit stale on ideas.

I guess ideally a new idea would use those scraps I've been saving...too many scraps lol

When I had my own family we usually had collies. All called Max. It started out as Maximus Barkus. Even when we had two dogs they were both called Max; Max one and Max two. I was not responsible for the naming of the dogs. Never let a 3 year old decide on the name of your dog

Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..

The beef  was perfect, so tender it fell apart 👌    served up with mash potato,  and veggies with a cheese sauce.

Now my belly is full 😋

Sounds great. I'm going to see if I can find a cut like that locally.

Unless I can find some caribou...that joke shirt @Sheilajeanne posted has given me a craving...

Man that sounds good , Here is what i made the wife for our 45th anniversary  last night. fresh Spike Elk Backstrap. Lovingly taken by my son in a canyon so steep and full of brush a horse cant even get close. We had to quarter and pack out the meat on foot, only took about 10 hours or so from the first shot to getting him in the truck, i carried these out in my pack. while also carrying a quarter. Two weeks of hard hunting and we have two wonderful elk to butcher. BTW beef steaks of half this quality are about 20 bucks a pound here in the store.

Worked in a prison for 30 years if I aint shiny every time I comment its no big deal, I just don't wave pompoms.

Oh, that looks delicious!

And that's great that you're going to use some of the elk leather. Will you tan it yourself, or get someone else to do it? I know the steps for brain tanning, and it's very labor intensive. Certainly not something I'd want to try!
