Hags Report post Posted May 18, 2022 A little while ago I did a judge type gun In natural leather. The owner contacted me wishing to get it a little darker. He asked about PNO and I to,d him I would try it on a piece of scrap let him know. Well, no luck. I finish with resolene 50/50 with water and it wont touch it. Any ideas? He just wants it a shade or 2 darker, but still looking like aged leather.
jrdunn Report post Posted May 18, 2022 You might try Fiebing's deglazer to remove the Resolene. I'm pretty sure you'll have to come up with something that will remove it before dye will penetrate. I hesitate to mention it but . . . Have you considered antiquing it? I hate the stuff but it's an option. Almost anything will stain your thread too. tsunkasapa Report post Posted May 18, 2022 Expose it to the sun. It will "suntan" just like we do. Need to keep an eye on it to not overdo it.
