Tio Report post Posted September 20, 2022 Let me know where you think I can improve. This one is mine, but I’ve had a few people want to know if I can make them one. Just feel like it’s not quite where I want it.

Hags Report post Posted September 20, 2022 I think it looks great. Good job!
Doc Reaper Report post Posted September 20, 2022 Build a better trigger support so it’s less of a basket and provides better hold, kinda like in the picture below but you get the idea, the white cutout is for a rough rider 22 pistol, just make a shelf to fit you derringer trigger guard
Doc Reaper Report post Posted September 20, 2022 Get a better way to sand your edges so it’s a more fluid sweep then put your thread grove in. I purchased cordless Dremel and various sanding drum sizes (not all at once, it was a slow money thing) get
Doc Reaper Report post Posted September 20, 2022 Grit then follow it with 100, and 260. But don’t dig if you can avoid it. Then do your burnishing thing. But don’t rush it, don’t over think it
fredk Report post Posted September 20, 2022 Doc says it. You can do some holding stitching for the edge clean-up, take the holster apart and then do the grooving using that good edge as guide. I'd advise using a wing divider to mark the groove lines first then go over those lines with a groover, taking a little bit of leather off in multiple passes rather than trying to dig it out in one pass
Tio Report post Posted September 24, 2022 Thanks Doc and Fredk. Great ideas I will definitely use on the next one.
Wild Bill46 Report post Posted October 1, 2022 Yes, I think a groove would better serve you for all holsters, and a finger notch out would also improve your overall designs. but in the light of simplicity this DOES NOT look bad to me at all ! As with most all of us we use the theory of - practice, practice, practice - normally.
