That reminds me,  I was in the mountains driving from vail to Colorado Springs 

on a long flat highway with no traffic. I had insulated overalls, thermals, sweat pants and jeans on. and I stopped to take a leak

Damn Trooper pulls up and says he can get me for indecent exposure

That could be used on those that  don't pay their accounts on time. 

Do walking sticks need to' flex' a little, or not  ?  In the last month, we've had some wild weather, and a lot of branches and debris   have fallen down . And after reading your thread, I have thought about walking sticks. Normally we cut the branches  up for fire wood , or  just put them in a pile  and set fire to them (we can do that now)  . But perhaps I could re-use the wood for something else. Just a thought.

It should not flex if it’s going to hold your weight

But, If you make one that is just for show or as a ensomble

mine has some flex but not a lot, it has to be stout to catch a fall or to whack someone with lol.

Lol i don't know but they would leave black and blue knots on your head lol.

I'm no expert on walking sticks or clubs either but i do know you need the good wood not the naughty stuff.

Yep, I hear ya . If  I try to make a walking stick, I'll try to use the thicker part of the branch.  I would guess the age of the wood is a factor. 

 I might try one . I'll find a suitable  branch, clean it up,  cut it to length, and put my fat a***s weight on it . If it don't break, I'll turn it into a walking stick .
