If I'm not mistaken the Singer 144W204 uses the 7x3 needles which is the same as the 794 needles but check your manual. For sewing leather you would use a 794 LR needle in the appropriate size for the thread. I personally like the Schmetz brand of needles. Jason Schmetz is a good brand that has alot of different leather points & the most common ones are the "S" point that makes your stitches look look straight & the "LR" that gives it a handstiched or zig-zag look.We stock both styles.
