I got a medium size stingray today from a friend. I cut a small section off the end and man is it tough. How do you finish the edges on them? This is totally out of my wheelhouse.  Please post any projects you have done with stingray I need some ideas lol.

Can't say I've worked with sting ray, but do you have any pics?

You can sand or grind the edges fairly smooth. At the Sheridan show I saw some Stingray work that had one of the Italian edge finishes that looked great. The beads are hard on needles and one tip was to use a dremel cutoff wheel to make a stitching groove. Obviously that takes some care but it looked really good.

People say, use sharp tools and resharpen when you're done.  It dulls the hell out of blades, awls and stitching irons.

I saw a youtube video and they used a dremel with the little sanding drum to clean up the rough edges.
