Members midgardworkshop Posted August 19, 2023 Members Report Posted August 19, 2023 Hello all! I'm making a costral/canteen for my wife and I'm looking at sealing it with melted beeswax (5oz veg tan) after wet-forming. Will acrylic paint adhere to waxed veg tan after it's sealed? I use Angelus leather paint. Cheers in advance Nathan Carlson Midgard Workshop Quote
Contributing Member fredk Posted August 19, 2023 Contributing Member Report Posted August 19, 2023 No. You'd be best painting the details first and waxing over them and the rest of the vessel Quote Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Members Heartless Posted August 19, 2023 Members Report Posted August 19, 2023 waxing/sealing should be the very last step paint will not adhere well to a waxed surface - of any kind... wood, leather, metal.. Quote
Members dikman Posted August 19, 2023 Members Report Posted August 19, 2023 Not much will stick to a waxed surface (in fact, I don't know anything that will).
