Recommended Posts

Lol. Title looks rather skits-O

if you ran across a broken microwave

man, do the world a solid and repurpose some of the junk

Their is good stuff for a leather worker inside a microwave

2- big round magnets

a transformer

their is also a capaciator   Stay away from the capacitor it will shock you.   bad ju jul

The transformers a big square hunk of steel with copper windings looping through it  unplug the wires and harvest that thing

Remove the  copper windings  , doing so is not an easy task  butm it can be done

Smash the trans,   Into 2 pieces

glue some leather on the bottom

2- weights, 2- anvils

I'm all in favour or re-purposing stuff ( or "free purposing" ) , but I've had my ' ye-olde' microwave since 1995-96. But I'm one of the very few that knows how to fix  some stuff, rather than throw out stuff.  A fuse went inside, , fixed that, the ' magnatron*' failed, fixed that ( *sounds like something out of Dr Who or Star Trek) . To this day,   and while it looks a bit shabby, it still works, touch wood,  it cooks food.

A friend of mine figured out how to make the turntable revolve with the door open on his broken microwave and he used it as a spray painting booth

I rewired the transformer to make a spot welder for attaching the solder tags to batteries. Haven't used it since I built it.:rolleyes2:
