Handstitched Report post Posted December 16, 2023 54 minutes ago, Frodo said: if you ran across a broken microwave I'm all in favour or re-purposing stuff ( or "free purposing" ) , but I've had my ' ye-olde' microwave since 1995-96. But I'm one of the very few that knows how to fix some stuff, rather than throw out stuff. A fuse went inside, , fixed that, the ' magnatron*' failed, fixed that ( *sounds like something out of Dr Who or Star Trek) . To this day, and while it looks a bit shabby, it still works, touch wood, it cooks food. HS
fredk Report post Posted December 16, 2023 A friend of mine figured out how to make the turntable revolve with the door open on his broken microwave and he used it as a spray painting booth
dikman Report post Posted December 16, 2023 I rewired the transformer to make a spot welder for attaching the solder tags to batteries. Haven't used it since I built it.
