This skiver works great, once you learn the adjusting techniques. Here is couple pics of making saddle strings. Quote

It will do a faster job than a hand held skiver I got a test for it coming up. I want to make a tote bag out of some re-tan water Buffalo. It has a real soft hand & kinda stretchy. I think it might struggle on this stuff a bit. Quote
