Gini Wanted Another Pair of Sandals

Recommended Posts

Finished Gini's large sunflower sandals. Now she has a go to town pair and house pair. She's my kryptonite.839513368_GinisLargeSunflowerSandalsweb.thumb.jpg.5f03e642b9fffa9f74a014c778b4453a.jpg

They look great! Nice work.

Do you make your own soles & insoles?

Thanks.

Those look wonderful. She is lucky, but I imagine she knows that.

I would be interested in hearing about the insole and outsole also, if you would please.

Thank you, I don't make the sole or insole. I find sandals on the internet and cut the sides off and use the pieces as templates, even reusing the buckles.

Thank you, she deserves more than I can give her.  I find sandals on the internet and cut the sides off and use the pieces as templates, even reusing the buckles.

Those big sunflowers really look good.

Thank you, she wanted BIG.

This is the first pair, it shows the pieces cut off and used as patterns.838505616_20240110_194302web.thumb.jpg.cee85fddaa312d4f6ae53e510d901629.jpg

Thanks. Do you use upholstery tacks/nails to fix your leather to the soles? Or are them decorative touches?

Thanks again. I appreciate it.

I use screw nails, it is for function. The Barge is strong but the flex/strain cycles concern me for durability.

This is a closeup of the nail. They can be found in box stores or old fashioned hardware stores my favorite.315033495_20240110_194317web.thumb.jpg.74819e533a650dc6103f20c52f0e88ab.jpg

Thanks. I got a box of them nails in stainless steel. I never knew what they were for.

They are actually for the strips going between flooring types. They pull out harder so work better with the sandals.
