Members DieselTech Posted March 23, 2024 Members Report Posted March 23, 2024 Looks great to me. Nice work. I havent done much figure carving, but hope to get that good. Have you seen or looked into the hair blades for your swivel knife or the freehand style hair blades? Quote
rktaylor Posted March 25, 2024 Report Posted March 25, 2024 That looks great. I have used that same craftaid but it didn't look that good. Your detail on the head is impressive. Randy Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted March 26, 2024 Contributing Member Report Posted March 26, 2024 I generally and usually and normally and routinely and consistently (and prolly some other ly's) advise NOT to use ant-streak on leather. But on "figure carving" I DEFINITELY WARN against it. Just don't belong on 'figures' at all. That said, I think you could benefit greatly from seeing Stohlman's book on figure carving, specifically look at 'matting" and double beveling. Still, your knife cuts look good n smooth Maybe this helps? Figures here also from "craftaid" templates. Quote
Members Simplejack1985 Posted March 30, 2024 Author Members Report Posted March 30, 2024 I bought the book. I need some more figure bevelers. I thought antiquing might make it pop like sheridan. Not so much Quote
