suedorade Report post Posted May 16 Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any advice about where I could find rivets (or better yet, Chicago screws) with attached swivel rings with diameters of 3/4" or more, preferably in a bright brass color. I'd also appreciate any feedback on if this hardware would be durable, or if it would degrade/stress the leather it is attached to. I've attached a visual example of what sort of hardware I am after. Example of smaller ringed chicago screw

TomE Report post Posted May 16 Might consider a swivel with 2 rings or squares. More to choose from at Weaver, Buckle Guy, Batz Corp, Bieler's Manufacturing. Could attach one ring to the project with a leather chape or loop. Stohlman shows examples for attaching buckles and rings in volume 1 of his case making books. But they're not suitable for heavy use, only for the likes of a wrist-strap on a purse 15 hours ago, suedorade said: I've attached a visual example of what sort of hardware I am after. I'm not looking to go into mass production so I'd be buying less than 15 of them, which may get expensive with a custom order.

An old Victorian mews building that sells all the normal stuff, leather, tools, hardware etc but also with narrow aisles with dusty boxes full of inspiration that haven't been seen for years. brookee Report post Posted 2 hours ago You may be able to find the rivets or Chicago screws with the attached swivel rings through online search of hardware suppliers or leatherworking stores which have specialized appliances. Websites like Tandy Leather, Weaver Leather, and even bigger platforms such as Amazon and eBay may have the particular products in the colors you want to be them bright brass or another one. Nevertheless, it is important to be aware that the screws and rings are made of high-quality materials, such as solid brass, to make them last longer and to prevent corrosion. Moving on to the durability factor, Chicago screws with swivel rings have the desired tenacity for leather projects in common cases, nonetheless, in a longer run, the stress or weight may cause the problems overclock, especially in case the leather is not maintained in a proper way or if it is subjected to the heavy-use projects. However, use the correct size screws for the leather thickness to avoid damaging it by stretching it out too much or breaking it.
