Members Aggstar Posted September 27, 2024 Members Report Posted September 27, 2024 New here but happy to be here! Recently picked up a 211g but the previous owner has changed the whole thread tensioning system. Trying to figure out how to use this one or if I should just replace OEM parts. thanks in advance! Members Constabulary Posted September 27, 2024 Members Report Posted September 27, 2024 (edited) Why bother - I´d replace it. Just 2 screws you have to loosen but you may have to adjust the tension unit https://www.ronsew.com/tension-unit-complete-240446-240024-singer-111g-except-111g117-singer-111w-singer-211w-singer-211g-singer153w-singer-168/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/162714404863 https://www.ebay.com/itm/152426630012 or buy local from a sewing machine dealer. Members Constabulary Posted September 27, 2024 Members Report Posted September 27, 2024 (edited) Not sure how the tension release works in this state but when you buy the new tension unit you may need the tension release lever rod as well except it is present but I doubt. https://www.ronsew.com/lifting-lever-rod-267265-for-singer-212w/ looks like the upper thread guide + screw is missing too. https://www.ronsew.com/thread-guide-upper-267316-for-singer-211g-211w-211u-212g/ https://www.ronsew.com/screw-200582/ Maybe you should post some good large pictures from rear and front so we can figure if something else is missing Edited September 27, 2024 by Constabulary Quote

The tension rod is present but I’m sure I have the whole setup somewhere in a box that I acquired from the seller of my 31-47 Edited September 27, 2024 by Aggstar Photo Quote

Resize your photos to 800 pixels in the longest dimension. If your files are too large to post here due to file size restrictions, you need to resize your files to fit. Follow this link for some helps and suggestions. https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=551171 There are lots of Apps, software, and online tools available on the web, or even built into your device to enable you to reduce your file sizes. 800 pixels in the longest dimension is quite adequate. Smart phone screens and many monitors don't display high res files in high resolution. People that live on the fringes of the internet appreciate smaller file sizes and high res photos may take from 10 minutes to hours to download. Quote

Members Agent319 Posted October 3, 2024 Members Report Posted October 3, 2024 I have noticed the Tension system that they sell for this machine does not have part # 267315 Thread Controller Spring Top included. This seems to be a critical part to keep the Tension spring in the correct position. I wonder why this part is not included in the whole Tension system? Quote

If it doesn't have the stop on it it's for the 111w only. The 211 tension needs the take up spring stop & the correct part# for the complete 211 tension unit is 244727,if you can't find it we stock them. Edited October 3, 2024 by CowboyBob Quote
