Question regarding Gomph French Edger

Recommended Posts

I have this gomph french edger, i was wondering how to tell if this is one of the original gomph tools, or one of the ones made by Ellis Barnes. I am not sure what size it is because it has no marking besides the name "GOMPH"

Thanks,

JC

You may want to contact Lonnie Height, who is running the show now at Gomph-Hackbarth. I talked to him about a year ago and he was still selling tools. 520-642-3891 or on his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/people/Gomph-Hackbarth-Tools/100021212726476/ . He might be able to answer your question.

It is not original. Original would be marked differently and different handle. Gomph maxed out at a size #8 and 1/2 inch width. This is one that Gene Pepples made for Ellis.

Yes they are originals - rosewood handles and original Gomph name and size markings. The versions Gene made for Ellis had hardwood handles and a bit different shape.
