A real Rats Nest! Help!

Recommended Posts

So, I think this is called an armshaft connecting belt, it is on a Bogle (Consew 226R style) sewing machine.  I've looked on the Techsew page and Google, but have not found one.  I see some on Ebay for what I think is a lot of money for a belt ($80+).  Can someone let me know what this is, and where to get one?  I'd like to get my machine functional again.

Thanks!

Would that be the timing belt possibly?

You got your monies worth out of that belt. From the photo's your machine is a cylinder arm. If I'm not mistaken the Consew 226R is the same as the 224, 225 and are Flatbed machines.

However the Consew 227R is a cylinder arm machine. If your machine is a 227R the belt part number is 10621 and it is called a Arm Shaft Connecting Belt.

What does the nameplate say the model number is?

To be sure I would give the vendor ( Bogle-Greenwell Machine Company) 3100 E Main St, Grand Prairie, TX 75050 a call. The number I came up with was (972) 262-3101. They should be able to tell you what parts should fit your machine.

I guess you mistyped 226. From what I see it looks like a Seiko CW-8 or Consew 227R or similar. The timing belts are readily available on Ebay or from most industrial sewing machine dealers. The Seiko # is 10621 . IIRC they are the same as for the Singer 111w156 (#224195).

I do not know if you have a manual that explains the replacement of the timing belt but the Consew 227R manual does but seems there is no timing mark on your machine. Anyway, here is the manual, hope it helps.

Sorry it's been a hot minute since I posted and haven't responded.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any nameplate on this machine at all, only a sticker that says BGMC.  It is a cylinder arm machine.  The user guide I have been using is from a Cowboy 3200 and Techsew 2700, not sure if that helps.  I'll give BGMC a call with the numbers you gave me when I get a spare minute.

Thanks much for these resources, I'll check them out.

Thank you guys for the info, when I get an opportunity to get the belt replaced, I'll let you all know how it worked out!

Also, I've probably stitched less than 10 yards with that machine in 10 years.  Feeling like I didn't get my $ out of it, lol!
