ETW Grumpy Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 (edited) I am fairly new to leatherwork, having been at it for about 6 or 7 months. I don't remember how I found this forum, but I'm glad I did. I hope to be of some help when I can. I have been doing mostly smaller items like cell phone cases and wallets, but plan on doing some toolbags and a seat soon. I attached a picture of a wallet that I did a while back. Hope I did it right. Edited March 10, 2007 by ETW Grumpy Quote

pepin1948 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Looks nice! Clean stitching, nice coloring job, and the basketweave is alot better than I can get Quote
Moderator Johanna Posted March 11, 2007 Moderator Report Posted March 11, 2007 Glad you could join us, Grumpy! Your basketweave does look wonderful, but so do your leaves. Thanks for sharing and hope you enjoy yourself here. Johanna Quote
pepin1948 Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I wanted to add in my post (couldn't edit it anymore) that I'd never thought of using rivets that way - did you see it mentioned on a pattern/in a book, or was that something you came up with? Quote
ETW Grumpy Posted March 11, 2007 Author Report Posted March 11, 2007 Actually I saw someone else using them as reinforcement at stress points and it just made sense. Most of the jeans companies use them that way. Since the pockets are pretty thin, I thought I'd better do something to keep from ripping them out. Thanks for the kind words. Quote
