Members K Smith Posted August 7 Members Report Posted August 7 Hello, I recently purchased a navy blue leather purse and the purse is transferring navy blue dye to all my clothes. Is there any way to prevent the purse from bleeding? Thank You Quote

Mainly, you will find that you need to buff the purse with a clean white soft cloth until it stops transferring dye (rub off) to the white cloth. Then it needs to be sealed with a finish product that could be a lacquer and water based sealer. You find various names as you peruse this forum. Quote

Then get some mink oil or other type of conditioner to rub into it, then wipe off with a white microfiber rag. Repeat process until white rag no longer shows blue. Members ThisIsMyFirstRodeo Posted 22 hours ago Members Report Posted 22 hours ago Having any issues with the interior? In the process of assembling a purse myself, but I made the dummy move of using water-based dye. I sealed the exterior with Pro Resist, but now I’m paranoid about bleed/stain on the inside (let’s say it got wet or something…). Before I stitch the panels together, is there anything I should do to seal the inside, or do I even need to worry about it? — AZR Quote
Members Dwight Posted 22 hours ago Members Report Posted 22 hours ago Put a coat of 50/50 Resolene and water on that inside . . . then take a glass slicker while it is still wet . . . slick the fibers down real good . . . let it dry for about 1/2 hour . . . then apply another thin coat . . You'll be good to go May God bless, Dwight Quote If you can breathe, . . . thank God. If you can read, . . . thank a teacher.
