Didn't think about that. Good idea @chuck123wapati  I'm pretty sure my metal working buddy has a sheer and the Guy I'm working for right now I know has a break and a sheer for sure at the work shop. I did find some 1 1/4" metal strapping at HD but just need to see how thick it is. This Nexbelt is only .150 thick. Two pieces of 3/4 oz  and .028 Kydex comes out about the same.

Curious how stiff it might be if I glue all three pieces together.

I make steel lined belts . . . actually have a favorite black one that is steel lined . . . I often wear it to church.

The steel is 20 thousandths thick . . . 1 inch wide . . . and it goes from the last of two buckle retention holes . . . to just shy of the last hole in the other end of the belt.

I made one for a friend 10 years or so ago . . . he still wears it . . . loves it . . .

I used two pieces of veg tan leather that were about .1000 thick . . . steel is glued on both sides with Weldwood contact cement . . . as well as the edges where the leather comes together.

Leather sewing done with 346 poly thread . . .

May God bless,

Dwight

@Dwight Do you have any problems with kinking or getting bent/folded and not be able to flatten it back out?

afair I put a piece of spring steel strapping in a chap's sword belt to stop in twisting under the weight of a sword. It worked well. But as it was only a length of about 12 to 15 inches he had no problem folding up the belt. Being spring steel I couldn't bend it without tools so this chap never bent it

Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..

No . . . I put it around me and buckle it . . . or lay it across my file cabinet . . . and never have any problems with it.

Someone would have to intentionally do something out of the ordinary to get it to be bent or folded.

My friend used to be rather large . . . and his belts would "sag" so to speak.  This one does not sag . . . he cinches it up . . . it stays there.

May God bless,

Dwight
