Contributing Member Jordan Posted April 3, 2009 Author Contributing Member Report Posted April 3, 2009 My mom has offered her cabin in Idyllwilde (sp) inbetween the Hemet and Palm Springs/Banning area until we get on our feet again. Then if everything works right, we will be getting a few acres and build a house in the Sonoita/Elgin area southeast of Tucson.. Already working on the balsa model and blueprints, it is based on a Katrina Cottage plan offered by Lowes Hardware. And it looks like I will end up doing most of the labor to save money. Quote
HorsehairBraider Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 Hey - that's a nice house! I do hope it works out for you - best of luck to you! Contributing Member Jordan Posted April 3, 2009 Author Contributing Member Report Posted April 3, 2009 Thanks. Got to set some goals and incorporate some dreams while I'm at it. Figure I got a good 25 years left and might as well live where it's warm, grow some grapes and rescue some puppies. Quote
Members Washroad Posted April 4, 2009 Members Report Posted April 4, 2009 Jordan, I've been to Idlywild many, many times. My father-in-law lives in Hemet and Palm Springs is a place my wife and I go when we want a quick get-away. Cool model of house you're building! Quote Brian It's YOUR life; rise up and LIVE it!
Members celticleather Posted April 4, 2009 Members Report Posted April 4, 2009 What a great plan . . . hope it works out! I trust the cottage will have an adequate workshop built-in! Quote When everyone is somebody, then no one's anybody
Contributing Member Jordan Posted July 9, 2009 Author Contributing Member Report Posted July 9, 2009 Just a bit of an update! No luck selling yet, lots of looky-loos but they all think everyone will just give away their houses. Anyway our financial status has improved somewhat so I decided to unpack all my leather stuff and get back to work. Now that we are not under the gun so much, we can wait for our price. It will just postpone our trek to Arizona by way of California by a few months, besides I am really missing the stress relief of smackin some leather. Quote
Contributing Member Regis Posted July 9, 2009 Contributing Member Report Posted July 9, 2009 Jordan, I'm in the same boat here in the Florida panhandle. Ours has been off and on for sale for over a year. I'm even part time in real estate and have thrown some Broker Open Houses with loads of food so agents get to preview the house. Very few buyers in our price range. Best of luch to you. Regis Quote God, Family, and Country (although liberals are attempting to destroy these in the USA)
ArtS Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 God bless you Jordan. You have a great attitude! "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked I shall return there. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD." JOB 1:21 I just wish there was something I could do besides pray for you.
