I ran across an industrial juki for sale near me, looks like a good price.

Only problem is, it's powered by 220. Is it possible to have it changed to 110? If so, how much work is this to do?

It is a model DDL-555ON-3, asking $400.

ANY info on this machine would be GREAT!!

couldn't you just replace the 220 motor with a 110 motor, if there is no way to change something internal on the 220 motor, though there might be a way to do that?

esantoro is right.

If you are talking about 220 volt 3 phase (4 prong plug) - forget it. Just replace the motor.

If it is a 220 volt single phase (two legs with a ground) some motors have a switch to change to 110 volt power. I don't think you'll be that lucky.

I work with motors everyday.Take the cover off the junction box on the motor and look either on the nameplate or inside the cover you just removed. It should tell you which wires to tie together to get 110 volts. Many single phase motors are wired for either 110v 0r 220 v.Dave

3 phase equipment is often much cheaper than single phase. 3 phase can be overcome by a phase converter (not the one from the movie).

DCKNIVES has the answer for the single phase motor.

If it is a 3 phase, . . . do yourself a favor, . . . buy a single phase and be done with it. Phase converters can be expensive, . . . and it is just one more thing to mess with if you have to move the machine or the shop.

Save yourself the headache. Get a Harbor Freight catalog, . . . get an online 20 or 25% off coupon, . . . go buy it, . . . be done with it.

May God bless,

Dwight

Agreed DC and Dwight with all but the HF. Toss the clutch and mounting issues. Get a 110 servo if its a 3 phase 220. You are still in a decent price range after conversion.
