Ian Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Hey, I've just started the second of six seats that I'll be doing for a friend. I just finished the tooling on the front of this one today. Dave Wow, breathtaking! Quote http://blackcanyonleather.net/

David Posted December 29, 2009 Author Report Posted December 29, 2009 Thanks for taking a look guys....I've now started on the third seat. I'll post some finished pics. Troy, I received my first order from Y-Knot Lacing last week. The shipping was prompt and Barb Sorenson, the owner, is a very pleasant lady. I'm hoping she'll begin advertising here. Dave Quote
Contributing Member Crystal Posted December 29, 2009 Contributing Member Report Posted December 29, 2009 Beautiful, David! Are all 6 seats going to be different designs? If so, I'd be wanting 6 bikes just to have all in the series. Gorgeous work as always. Crystal Quote Black Dog Custom Leather

Gorgeous work as always. Crystal Hi Crystal, All six seats are going to be similar tattoo oriented art work. The third that I'm working on now has a dragon and a koi fish. It is very similar to the seat that I took to IFoLG this year.......except of course it has the signature on it. Thanks for the kind words, Dave Quote
Members Storm Posted December 29, 2009 Members Report Posted December 29, 2009 David...Awesome doesn't cover it! This is going to be a collection of magnitude! Storm Quote Please keep in mind that unless I ask for anyones critique I do not want nor require same.

Members awizardalso Posted December 29, 2009 Members Report Posted December 29, 2009 I promised Jeff 6 seats. Here are the first two. Greetings, Awesome seems to be an understatement. I haven't had a chance to go through many of the old posts, so please forgive me if it's been asked before. What do you do for weather-proofing? I just started getting back into working with leather after 20 years. I haven't made any bike seats (that I'll admit to) and it is something that fits in with my intents. I had been using Mop-n-Glo as a finish for what I did make, but nothing that would be exposed to the weather, like a bike seat. For that matter, I haven't made anything from tooling leather that could be exposed to the weather. Quote

David Posted December 29, 2009 Author Report Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) Here is the bike and seat that I did on my last Step by Step. Nice ride eh? I also called this signature seat 1. I hope to have some better pics soon. These are just a few that I snapped in Jeff's new shop. Dave Edited December 29, 2009 by David Quote
