Members LarryB Posted April 5, 2008 Members Report Posted April 5, 2008 (edited) Finished this biker wallet. I decided to use my dragon tearing the leather and I completed the insides for the first time. The insides are the same as tandy has, I used that as a pattern to make mine. I seen several in this group doing the insides to thier wallets and I had to try. Anyway...thought I would share this with all of you. If you see something I should of done different or improve on, please tell me... never to old to learn. Edited April 5, 2008 by LarryB Quote

TomSwede Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 That dragon looks like a very nice job and so does the wallet in total. Nice working with the inside, clean and professional looks. Tom Quote

Members LarryB Posted April 5, 2008 Author Members Report Posted April 5, 2008 Thanks everyone for all the kind words. The one thing I did was use just a little bit over heavy leather on the insides. So I'll get some lighter leather for the insides. Again, thanks for the kind words. Quote
ETW Grumpy Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 That's really cool Larry. You said you used the same inside as Tandy has. Was that out of one of their biker wallet kits? Weight leather did you use for the inside and what will you go to? Quote

Was that out of one of their biker wallet kits? Weight leather did you use for the inside and what will you go to? I bought a biker wallet and carved a eagle pattern on the front of it that Jim had drawn. After that I got some leather that I have here in my shop and it was twice the thickness and used it to cut out for the dragon billfold insides. The leather I used was just a little thick...nothing bad but thinner would be better. They use about a 2 or 3oz leather and mine was about 4 to 5 oz. I made the liner by making templates from the measurements from the tandy liner then marked and cut out the sections. I had to keep looking at the eagle billfold to see how to sew the dragon liner.. but it came out ok. As with any first one ..you always see things you want to change on your next. I made a card slot section to go where the top snaps are and a flap to go over to keep them in place but backed out at the last min. I think I'll put it in my next one to see if its ok. Quote
