gtwister09 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 David, Great work as always. A breaking out clown is great.....in Robb Barr fashion. It's too bad that you couldn't emboss a seat like that but who wants a lumpy ride ... Maybe a picture like that embossed....... Regards, Ben Quote
David Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Posted January 27, 2010 Thank you all for the kind comments on this seat. I'm surprised at the number of killer clown fans we have here. The customer wants a DARK finish. Not black but as dark as I can go without being black. Go to my website and take a look at a seat called Dark Jesus. That's what he wants as far as color goes. There is also going to be the extra stitching and lacing on this one. Thanks for taking a look at it. Dave Quote
TomSwede Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Great looking seat David!!! Clown is looking very good, like it alot!!! Too bad the rear fittings is a bit chunky and you have to go with those big square holes!! Members scottishshoemaker Posted January 27, 2010 Members Report Posted January 27, 2010 Nice, when is it going tto be finished? can't wait!!!!! Quote You Want It, I'll Make It!
Members workingman Posted January 28, 2010 Members Report Posted January 28, 2010 Awesome as always!! Quote I BOW TO THE CREATIVE CONSCIOUSNESS, I BOW TO THE DIVINE WITH IN.
David Posted January 28, 2010 Author Report Posted January 28, 2010 TomSwede I'm not a fan of the square holes either. The only alternative was to cut out the entire center of the seat and leave only about 1 1/2" of leather around the edge. That would have been ok except the customer had already picked out the Lucky 13 for the seat back. Like I said this is a Chopper Shocks seat so there are 2 small shock absorbers insead of springs under the seat. I'm not familiar with the set up but I've heard that they are a pretty hard ride..... as if a rigid isn't hard enough! Thanks all for taking a look. I hope to have the seat finished this weekend because I have two other seats to work on..... and then there is the fourth of Jeff Cochran's seats to design. Dave Quote
David Posted January 30, 2010 Author Report Posted January 30, 2010 I finished the decorative stitching and lacing today. Later I'll begin assembling the seat. Dave Quote
