Members joker Posted July 21, 2010 Members Report Posted July 21, 2010 Just finished this seat for a customer in Arkansas. He has Rogue Shovel on his tanks and wanted the seat to match the font. Thought I would share. Thanks Joker Quote

Members joker Posted July 21, 2010 Author Members Report Posted July 21, 2010 Thanks for the kuto's guys! I used Fiebings Oil Dye for the black and the orange was Eco-Flo Cova that Tandy sells. I thinned it down so it would get better penatration. I hate using that paint but I could not find any orange dye. I tried to mix red and yellow and just could not get the right shade of orange. The guy wanted it to match his orange frame and the font on his tanks. As far as the burnished edges go, that is just alot of rubbing with a tool that I made years ago out of white nylon. I use the Gum Tragacanth on the edges and just rub the daylights out of it until I get a real smooth edge. Im by no means as good as others on here but Im learning. Thanks Joker Quote

TomSwede Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 A really nice and clean seat!!! You can get orange like this with with the red/yellow mix but it takes some tampering with mixes and diluting it down with alcohol. In the end you have to apply many layers and it streaks easily ( in my experience anyways) so I think using cova might be a good idea for it. Nice work, edges looks so smooth!! Tom Quote
