Members Stewart Posted October 9, 2010 Members Report Posted October 9, 2010 Roysisbry, To me, that was a very creative pattern you used. The paint was out of a tube or bottle? To me That was a good job Joe Quote
Members royslsbry Posted October 9, 2010 Author Members Report Posted October 9, 2010 Thanks, The blue is out of a bottle. I got it at Walmart. The white is from a paint pen. The belt was made to match my son's blue sets in his Champion Calf riding buckle and his hat band is the same color. Quote
Members joquarter Posted October 11, 2010 Members Report Posted October 11, 2010 Love the blue. I'm sure your son will be happy with it. Quote
Members Leatherman5900 Posted October 15, 2010 Members Report Posted October 15, 2010 Here's a belt I made today. Let me know what you think. I love the belt and the colors. What color is the blue acrylic and I assume you applied with brush? How many coats? What type of sealer? Once again....excellent job. Quote
Members royslsbry Posted October 15, 2010 Author Members Report Posted October 15, 2010 The blue is turquoise. Apple barrel brand 2614. I mix it with water till it really diluted I apply it with a sponge brush lightly applying really thin coats drying between coats. I put as ever how many coats it takes not to see in more natural color. The I seal it with acrylic resolene. I lightly coat it until I reach the amount of shine i want. Be sure with the paint to apply thin coats at a time if you you don't you will get cracking when the belt is flexed a lot. hope this helps. Quote
