  5. I make my lid cover out of 7/8 oz veggie tan. To cut the circle to fit I cut a piece of leather a little larger than the lid and tack it on with rubber cement then I use a razor knife to trim it to fit. I use the lid as the guide for the knife.
  6. Thanks guys! I plan to make a frame from some old barn wood, first I have to go get some from my Mom's. So next month hopefully I'll get to. Thanks, Roy
  7. I cut mine first then smooth or sand off any ruff edges left, then I apply dies or oil depending on what I'm using, with a small brush in the cut outs. Then I dyes the rest.
  8. I had my carving matted today ready for the art show let me know what you all think of it. Thanks

  12. I noticed somebody has an Adler30-15 near me for sale can any one give me any information on one? Thanks, Roy
  13. I just lightly wet my leather and trace it on with a mechanical pencil. I never use any tracing paper just the paper I print it out or draw it on. It just leaves a light scratch then I retrace it with the stylus.
  14. Here's a scan of one of mine you can copy. Hopefully you can print it out and it will be the exact size. If not copy it to paint or word and stretch it out. It is 15.5 inches long and 3.5 in the middle you can make it wider. It tapers down at the ends to 1 inch. Hope this helps. Roy
  15. Heres some chaps I just finished and a belt I'm working on. Take a look and let me know what you all think.
  16. The key to keep any sealer from cracking is light coats dry between each coat. I use acrylic resolene mixed 50/50 with water. Sometimes I use saddlelac all applied in thin coats and I dry them under a heat lamp. I haven't had any problems with cracking. If your paint is cracking it needs to be reduced with water and applied in thin coats also.

  17. A nose band I finished up today
